The Luckiest Girl in the World
In 2018, my fiancé Navin and I met while working in the Emergency Department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in NJ. I saw Navin as a friend, someone to confide in – but he saw so much more. The first two years of knowing each other were far from romantic. Our conversations at the hospital would revolve around David Ramsey and the best investment stocks for a 401k. Navin would try to ask me out but I would always find a way to say no. The risk of things not working out between us was not worth it to me. I remember thinking whoever ends up with him is going to be the luckiest girl in the world. I never thought that girl would be me.
For three years, we maintained a friendship and kept in touch. When I moved to Boston for my dream job, I quickly realized there was a big part of my life missing - love. After living on my own during the pandemic, I took a hard look at my previous dating patterns and realized I was looking for love in all the wrong places. Turns out, the love of my life was right in front of me all along.

Valentine’s Day 2021 changed everything. I finally said yes to his date offer. We made homemade pasta and sang along to Frank Sinatra in his kitchen. Our first kiss was the beginning of a beautiful adventure. It took me by surprise - it all just made sense and felt right. I remember going back to Boston thinking that all of my future dreams and plans no longer made sense without him in them.
On March 21, 2021, Navin told me he loved me and I excitedly repeated the phrase back to him. I created my Tiny Tags necklace as a reminder of the day we said “I love you.” I will never forget the journey that led me to him. Navin proposed on February 8, 2022 and we are getting married this upcoming December!
