No Choice To Be Made
Our story is one that God has assigned to one of his toughest warriors. My husband Brian and I were only married for about six months when we found out we were pregnant with Emilee, and although we were thrilled we were definitely not prepared for everything that was coming. At 25 weeks pregnant I went to urgent care thinking I had a cold —I felt sick and was hesitant to take anything over the counter because it was my first baby.
The doctor there ordered me to the ER for testing and two days later I was meeting with a surgeon who was explaining to me that I had stage 4 cancer, which had essentially breached from my thyroid bed and was moving to my lymph nodes. They offered me a late term abortion or “to suffer with health problems from there on out." My daughter already had a nursery and a name. I had already become a mother under all circumstances. There was no choice to be made.
She’s 15 now. I’ve had 3 reoccurrences of non Hodgkin’s lymphoma and yes, my health is compromised but hers isn’t. My life is definitely different than I imagined it would be, but I wouldn’t change anything because she saved my life and she’s been my best friend since day 1. Well outside of the teenage angst!
I don’t use social media really but I’m so glad to have found Tiny Tags site. So far I’ve purchased the sterling silver Vertical Date Necklace, the sterling silver Mini Dog Tag Necklace (with two tags), a gold Mini Dog Tag Necklace, and also Faith Over Fear Necklace - and now a bar necklace! I’m saving my money to purchase a combo of both my wedding date 05.04.07 in white gold and my daughter’s birthday in rose gold Pavé 03.18.08. Having both dates together and one being sparkly!
