Fly High Poppy
This year was full of change for my family. I had my baby girl in July, my sister started college in August, and my parents were going to be empty nesters and had so many plans and dreams to pursue. On my mother’s way home from leaving my sister at college, she was killed in a car accident on the interstate.
Somebody was going the wrong way and somehow, it was her car that was hit. This is the hardest thing we've ever had to go through. No goodbye, no hug, she’s just gone. So many big changes that both me and my sister need our mom here for. And my dad… my heart just breaks for him. They would be celebrating their 31st wedding anniversary this October.
I had told my mom about this beautiful necklace I had ordered with my daughter’s name on the front, and her birthday on the back. I couldn’t wait to show it to her. She never had the chance to see it. After my husband and I navigated our way across the country with our six week old daughter for our mother’s celebration of life, my sister saw my necklace and told me how much she loved it. That was when I placed the next order.
A necklace for her - the front saying “mommy” and the back saying “fly high”, and an extra tag to add onto my necklace next to my daughter’s name, the front saying “poppy” (this was her grandmother name) and the back also saying “fly high." I can’t believe we have a lifetime to go without her here, but these Tiny Tags are a gentle reminder that she is always with us, every single day.
