Merging Cultures
My husband was raised Jewish and I wasn’t raised in any religion, mostly just traditions from both sides of my family - I’m half Jewish on my mother's side, half Mexican.
When my husband and I got together we had many discussions of how we were going to raise our kids and what holidays and beliefs we would embrace. I fell in love with the Jewish culture and everything it entailed - from holidays, beliefs, and the food! It was a very easy choice for me, but we will be bringing in some traditions from how I was raised as well and give our family such a cool mix of traditions.
The Jewish culture will be playing the majority of how we live our lives, as we believe it is such a beautiful way to bring up a family and can’t wait to raise our kids with all that culture and love from how we were both raised.
I have a Tiny Tags Star of David tag with my daughter's initials on the back. This necklace means so much to me, and I can’t wait to pass it down to her when she gets older, so she knows how special it is to be who she is and where she comes from.
